Choreographer makes European debut
– With Cave, we question reality in several ways. We want to encourage the audience to open their own 'caves', says choreographer Rena Butler.
In recent years, Rena Bulter has been Gibney Company's inaugural Choreographic Associate in New York and created commissioned works for companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, BalletX, Whim W´him and Boston Dance Theater. With the performance Cave, Rena Butler makes her European debut.
- Decolonization to me is unlearning learned behaviors in our comfortable individual minds, our caves. And the new knowledge is to become aware, promote and integrate with the new information. It then becomes the light outside the cave, says Rena Bulter.
